Executive Leadership

José Roberto Reynaldo

CEO

Chief Executive Officer and member of the Executive Board at TSEA, José Roberto Reynaldo has nearly 40 years of experience in the electrical infrastructure sector. He has worked across Generation, Transmission, and Distribution segments. He holds a degree in Engineering from Universidade São Francisco and an MBA from FGV / Ohio University. His career includes leadership roles at major companies such as Siemens, Tecsis, and Alvarez & Marsal.

Gustavo Murgel

CFO

With more than 40 years of experience in the financial sector, Gustavo Murgel has held leadership positions at institutions such as ING, Santander, and Itaú. He was one of the founders and key partners at FRAM. He leverages his deep expertise in finance, strategic decision-making, and leadership to execute TSEA’s sustainable growth plan and build long-term business continuity.

Maurício Machado

Director, Regulators BU

Maurício Machado holds a degree in Business Administration from Universidade Paulista, with specializations in Industrial Administration (Fundação Vanzolini – USP), Production Engineering (Universidade Anchieta), and an MBA in Business Management (USF). With more than 28 years in the energy sector, covering Generation, Transmission, and Distribution, he is responsible for modernizing TSEA’s Regulators Business Unit, enhancing production indicators through automation and more assertive decision-making.

José Maria Sampaio

Director, Transformers BU

A graduate in Electrical Engineering from PUC-MG, with a specialization in Transformer Electrical Design from Toshiba Corporation in Japan, José Maria has been with TSEA for more than 36 years. Having worked in several areas of the company, with experience gained both in Brazil and Japan, where he lived for two years, he now serves as Operations Director of the Transformers Business Unit. He is responsible for the expansion and construction of the new Power Transformer Factory, scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2029.

Thiago Saraiva Fernandes

Commercial Director

Thiago began his career as an Industrial Technician at CEFET-MG and later transitioned to management, earning a degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in International Trade from Centro Universitário Newton Paiva, as well as an Executive MBA in Business Management from IBMEC. In his 15+ years with TSEA, he spent four years in the United States promoting high-voltage equipment and acting as the interface between TSEA in Brazil and Toshiba International Corporation in North America. He currently leads the Commercial Area in Brazil and abroad for Power Transformers and Voltage Regulators.

Gilson Braga Viegas

Director, Services BU

Gilson holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from PUC-MG, with MBAs in Business Management (UFMG) and Exponential Management (IBMEC). He brings more than 33 years of experience in the power transformer industry, having worked in Engineering, Technical Assistance, Planning, and Logistics. Today, he leads the Services Business Unit. His mission is to establish the BU as a national and international reference in transformer-related services, working with specialized teams to extend equipment lifespan and ensure compliance with industry standards.

César Carvalho

Director, Integrated Solutions BU

César holds a degree in Electrical Engineering from the State University of Santa Catarina and a postgraduate degree in Business Management from FAE. With 22 years of experience in the energy sector across Transmission and Distribution, he has worked in Engineering, Project Management, and Business Management. He is currently Operations Director of the Integrated Solutions Business Unit, focusing on Protection and Control Systems, Telecom, Substation Retrofits, Mobile Substations, and Compact Substations. He also leads the BU’s international market expansion.

Rafael Porteiro

CMO

Graduated in Engineering from Universidade Metodista de Piracicaba, with a specialization in Finance from Saint Paul Business School and in Marketing from the Kellogg School of Management, he has more than 15 years of experience in the B2B energy sector, with a career built in both national and international companies. He joined TSEA in 2018, where he currently leads the Marketing area. He is responsible for strategic positioning, brand expansion and strengthening, and the development of institutional relationships with customers and the critical electrical infrastructure market.

Ed Morata

Director, U.S. Operations

A senior executive with more than 35 years of experience in business management, market expansion, and high-performance team leadership, Ed Morata has held roles at Santander, ING, and Citibank. He holds a Master’s degree in International Economic Law (PUC-SP) and a Bachelor’s in Business Administration (FGV), and has completed executive programs at MIT, Harvard, Kellogg, IESE, and INSEAD. At TSEA, he leads the U.S. operations, focusing on consolidating and expanding the brand’s presence in the American market.

Factories and Offices

Contagem Unit - MG, Brazil

Rod. Fernão Dias, 3045 – Inconfidentes, Contagem – MG, 37418-760

Opened in 1968, the Contagem Unit comprises 32,000 m² of built area and produces up to 200 power transformers and 3,500 voltage regulators per year.

The facility includes vertically integrated manufacturing for power transformers and voltage regulators, as well as production of key components such as tanks, coils, tap changers, electronic controls, cores, and active parts.

Coil and active-part production areas operate under controlled environmental conditions to manage humidity and particulate levels.
An expansion of the Power Transformer Factory is underway, increasing capacity to 30 GVA per year. Completion is scheduled for Q1 2029.

Betim Unit - MG, Brazil

Av. Engenheiro Gerhard Ett, 1100 – Distrito Industrial Paulo Camilo Sul, Betim – MG, 32669-110

The Betim Unit provides maintenance and refurbishment services for power transformers up to 230 kV.

The facility can refurbish approximately 30 units per year and serves utilities and industrial customers.

Scope includes transformer repair, component replacement, and condition-based technical interventions.

Curitiba Unit - PR, Brazil

The Curitiba Unit focuses on integrated solutions for critical electrical infrastructure.
Portfolio includes Protection, Control and Automation Systems, telecom systems, substation retrofits, and mobile substations.

Projects are developed based on customer technical requirements for transmission, distribution, and industrial applications.
